Questions

Is it free?
Yes. There is no sign-up and no limit. Everything runs in your browser, so your text never leaves your device.
Can I use the output in my project?
Fonts in the Knockout, Classic and Blocks groups, yes. We drew the Knockout fonts ourselves, the classic FIGlet fonts allow free use and changes, and the block fonts are released under the WTFPL. Fonts in the Community group come from the wider FIGlet archive and carry no stated license. They are used all over the web, but if you need a clean license for client or commercial work, pick from the other groups. Shadow Block is our own take on the ANSI Shadow look.
Can I make it move?
Yes. Pick a Motion effect like Matrix, Fire or Glitch, then download a 5 or 10 second video, or copy the embed code to put the live animation on your own site.
Why does it look broken when I paste it?
ASCII art needs a monospaced font. Paste it into a code block, a terminal, or anything set to a font like Menlo or Consolas and the letters line up again.
Can I turn a photo into ASCII art too?
Yes. Image to ASCII turns any photo into ASCII art, and can cut out the background first so the subject stands on its own. Open Image to ASCII
Can I put it in my GitHub README?
Yes. Copy as Markdown for a text banner, or download a GIF or SVG and add it as an image. Both keep moving on GitHub, and the SVG stays sharp at any size.
